Digital diagnostic report and images
What is an X-ray scan?
One of the most common forms of medical imaging, X-rays capture images of your body’s internal structures and tissues to help doctors detect disease, assess fractures, and identify abnormal growth. They do this by emitting a small amount of ionising radiation.
By analysing X-ray images, doctors are able to diagnose broken bones, pneumonia, and other medical conditions and prescribe the best treatments
What is a digital X-ray?
Digital radiographs are a new X-ray technology that emits a much lower dose of radiation to produce detailed images within seconds. All our clinics use the latest digital X-ray technology to provide patients with an accurate, low-risk digital imaging experience
Affordable, same-day scans and accurate diagnostics = life-saving treatment plans
Are you concerned about how your injury is healing? Digital X-rays are a safe and effective way to get a quick diagnosis and adjust your treatment accordingly. No referral is necessary
Simply walk into one of our Cyprus clinics, and our medical professionals will help you with a self-referral

What to expect on the day of your scan
Scanxiety is real. We’ve found that knowing exactly what to expect can help ease scan-related stress
-
Check-In
01On the day of your scan, you will start by checking in at the reception
-
Comfortable extremity and instructions
02A CT scan technologist will be assigned to you. They will accompany you into an examination room and provide specific instructions on how to position yourself based on the body parts being screened. The technologist will then leave the examination room
-
Scan procedure
03During the scan, you’ll be asked to lie on a flat bed, which will be moved into the donut-shaped scanner. You’ll have to stay as still as possible and may be asked to hold your breath, depending on the body part being scanned. The process takes no longer than a minute or two; however, it may vary depending on how long it takes for the contrast material to be administered and how still you will keep
-
Additionally
*Please keep in mind that certain metal objects, such as zippers, jewellery, or piercings, can affect the quality of the CT scan, so to avoid wearing a medical gown, please try to wear comfortable clothing that does not have any metal detailing

Safety considerations before booking a CT scan
-
Since they only use a much smaller dose of ionising radiation than conventional X-rays, digital X-rays are generally safe. However, they still produce ionising radiation and may have an impact on living tissues
-
The risk of developing cancer due to ionising radiation is low; however, it accumulates with repeated exposure, which is why we recommend avoiding multiple scans unless absolutely necessary
